Freedom is what separate man from the hierarchy of beings. It is expressed through one’s ability to think and respond to the dictates of their environment. Without this right, man is deprived of all conscience, all reasons and is reduced to a depersonalized clog in the wheel of the state. It is education that liberates man and gives him unparalleled freedom. It allows oneto be intellectually free.It is indeed an instrument of social and personal renewal.
Mr. Kanu started his quest for intellectual liberation in 2005, in at the Educational Advancement Center, Awolowo Road, Ibadan, where he did his advanced Level (A’LEVELS) programme. By dint of hard work and providence, he finished with a 10points score, wherein he scored a ‘B’ grade in History and Literature in English, first of its kind in the history of that institution.
Consequent upon this flush of esteem and his desire to achieve more, he proceeded to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) where he obtained his B.A History/ International Relations, with a Second Class Honours in the (Upper Division), finishing at the top end of his class as the best graduating student of his set.
As a child, the vocation law has always evoked in him the excitement, hope and the palpable longing of an expectant mother. In search of a useful profession that would liberate him intellectually, and in furtherance to his insatiable desire to be counted among the most fortunate adherents of this honoured and honourable profession of law, he proceeded to the now primus inter pars, the premier University of Ibadan, where he obtained his LL.B, with a Second Class Honours in the (Upper Division)
In spite of the mutablenesses and vagaries of life, he was successfully admitted to the Nigerian Bar, as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, on the 28th of November, 2013, having earlier successfully completed his one year compulsory vocational training at the Nigeria Law School, Abuja Campus.
Mr.Kanu is analytical, astute, articulate and possesses exceptional leadership skills. He is a scholar of a great repute with avid interest in international law, domestic politics and African affairs and is highly interested in the dynamics and intrigue of world politics.
The modern practice of law has proven to be multifaceted in scope, with its ever widening range. However, he has a particular inclination towards pure courtroom advocacy (litigation), soliciting and negotiations. His particular interest in these areas of practice is rooted in his belief that they form the foundation of the vocation of law from which other aspects of law have now emerged. It is his belief therefore that a good foundation in these traditional areas of practice is a panacea for success in other areas of legal practice.
